  • Kirsty will lead all of Ogilvy's capabilities, including advertising, PR, social and influencer, customer engagement, consulting, and health

Kirsty Muddle has been appointed CEO of Ogilvy for New Zealand and Australia, replacing Sally Kissane, who left the company earlier this year.

Under her new appointment, Kirsty will be responsible for all of Ogilvy's capabilities, including advertising, PR, social and influencer, customer engagement, consulting, and health. She is set to take up the position in early 2026.

Kirsty wrote on LinkedIn that it was an "honour and privilege" to head one of the world's best-known creative firms in the region.

With more than 25 years of experience, Kirsty has both developed businesses from scratch and run mature organizations.

She comes to Ogilvy from Dentsu, where she was CEO of Practices & Products for Australia and New Zealand, with responsibility for creative, PR, government, customer experience, Salesforce, insight, data and technology, commerce, and B2B marketing & media.

She was before that a founding partner at cummins&partners, serving 11 years building the creative reputation of the agency. She spent nine years at Mindshare in the UK and Australia, where she specialized in media planning.

Kirsty has been awarded Woman of the Year and Executive of the Year, and is a director at the Australian Council of Advertising (ACA), Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA), and Ridgeway, an Indigenous social change agency.

Speaking about Ogilvy, Kirsty commented on the agency's emphasis on pairing creativity with technology, AI, and data, with a strong belief in the core power of creativity to fuel business growth.

Laurent Ezekial, the Global CEO of Ogilvy Group, contributed to Muddle's welcome by expressing her confidence in Kirsty as someone with a "track record of delivering real value and impact for clients" and creating effective solutions by bringing different capabilities together.

WPP's President of Australia and New Zealand, Rose Herceg, said Muddle was a "star choice," as she has a combination of creativity, business intuition and a great grasp of the ever-changing media landscape.

Kirsty's appointment will provide Ogilvy with an entrepreneurial approach to encourage Ogilvy clients and the agency itself to adapt in an evolving landscape.
