The SME National Women Entrepreneurs and Tourism Bureaus will organize the "Shine Bright Pink October Run 2025" on Oct 11 at KL Tower, aligning with National Sports Day and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

More than 3,000 runners are joining the pre-dawn 5km run to raise awareness of breast cancer prevention and early detection, as well as healthy lifestyles and community unity.

Dr. Chin Chee Seong, SME Association Malaysia President, said the event is more than a physical activity. He called "Shine Bright" a national movement that inspires wellness, optimism, harmony, and motivates Malaysians to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Organising chair Kate Yong pointed out the event's thrust on women empowerment and self-love. She said the campaign reminds women, who usually carry the family and community burdens that they already "glow from within." Participants will receive Dora blind boxes at the finish line, which represent bravery, loving oneself, and the heart to give back to society.

Datuk Miccele Siow Lee Ching, vice-president and chairlady of SME Women Entrepreneurs Bureau, highlighted the global aspect of the event.

This year, the run partners with Chinese intellectual properties (IP) TNT Space and Dora to build a bridge of culture across China and Southeast Asia.

Datuk Ada Poon Yin Hoong, SME Tourism Bureau chairlady, added that the run also acts as a platform to promote Visit Malaysia Year 2026. By combining cross-sector resources, the event hopes to present Malaysia's hospitality and promote its global presence.

From a venue's point of view, Datuk Khairul Faisal Othman, LSH Service Master Sdn Bhd CEO, stated KL Tower is honored to host the run, coincidentally falling on its 39th anniversary.

He further noted that the event is in line with the corporate social responsibility values of the tower and showcases KL Tower as a venue for socially influenced and meaningful activities.

Ben Lee, CEO of M&M Creation Holdings, described the IP role in the event. Dora, one of China's top 20 IP characters with a value of USD 100 million, will be prominently featured at KL Tower, including a six-meter statue—the first of its kind in Malaysia. Ben added that the project also focuses on assisting Malaysian IPs to go global.
