Kuburah Diamonds Foundation Hosts First Women's Conference

  • The Kuburah Diamonds Foundation organized its first Intentional Women Conference
  • KDF is a charitable organization focused on girl child and young women's development
  • Over 500 young women and invited speakers attended the event in Tamale

 

Kubrha Diamonds Foundation (KDF), a nonprofit organization that works to empower girls and young women, has held their first Intentional Women Conference in Northern Region.

This conference was based off the theme "Educate, Empower, Trailblaze" and had about 500 young women in attendance, along with invited speakers at Red Clay location in Tamale, Ghana.

The purpose of this conference was to build up the development of female leaders as well as build their ability to succeed both personally and professionally.

The conference was organized by KDF Founder Adiza Ibrahim and attracted many students from Tamale Secondary School, Northern School of Business, Islamic Senior High School, Nuriya Senior High School and Nanton Senior High School.

In addition to the young women, there were over 100 women and men attending from the Tamale Metropolis who participated in mentorship and knowledge sharing sessions.

This conference was inspired by Adiza’s book “Hey Diamond! How To Be An Intentional Young Woman” which was published a year prior.

The conference gave professionals an opportunity to share their knowledge on how to live intentionally, how to find a purpose in life as well as providing advice about becoming a leader and an entrepreneur.

A group of diverse speakers addressed the audience. Hajia Alima Sagito Saeed, Executive Director of the Savannah Women Integrated Development Agency (S.W.I.D.A.), and Special Guest of Honour; spoke about the importance of working with others in order to achieve our goals.

Executive Chef Faila spoke about the discipline and planning that are necessary for the successful professional development of one's self.

Chef Dee (Khadija Yussif), along with Founder of Assistance Hub Humu-Hani, presented about how important it is to develop skills and the digital skills necessary to be competitive in the workplace today.

Nihad Titiaka, Winner of Ghana's Most Beautiful for 2024 and Founder of EcoGreen Cases Legacies, presented on the importance of being environmentally conscious and sustainable.

Private Pilot Khadijah Iddrisu spoke about her experiences of pursuing an alternative career path and encouraged young women to explore the many different professional paths available to them.

Participating in the conference were representatives who actively participated in the discussions surrounding each of the presentations and were grateful for the mentoring and real-life examples provided by the speakers during the course of the conference.

After the conference, Adiza Ibrahim stated that the goal of the conference was to encourage young women to be purposeful in achieving both their professional and personal goals, and to express how well the speakers and participants interacted during the discussions was a meaningful exchange of ideas.
