  • Over 200 women entrepreneurs participated in the EXPO 2025 satellite events
  • Participants included business leaders, investors, and representatives from public and private organizations

In 2025, the Women's Entrepreneurship EXPO hosted satellite events in Sarajevo and Pristina, allowing 200 women-led businesses and other relevant private, public, and financial entities in their respective markets to attend these local events.

"Seen, Found, Funded" is the framework for the events in Sarajevo, while the framework for the events in Pristina will differ.

The Expo will also serve as a vehicle for connecting women-owned businesses with potential investors, establishing new business clients, and facilitating entry into the international marketplace.

Jo-Anne Bishop, the UN Women's Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said, "The Monthly EXPO Satellite Event will allow the EXPO Satellite Event's attendees to continue supporting Bosnian and Herzegovinian women-owned businesses and build a stronger entrepreneurial environment for women in the region."

Not only does the Monthly Satellite Event connect women business owners with prospective partners within their industry, but it also provides an opportunity for women entrepreneurs to showcase their companies to a larger audience.

The Satellite Event provides women-owned businesses with tools to develop a strong brand identity, articulate their unique value proposition to potential clients, investors, and the general public, connect with other like-minded women business owners and collaborate with them on a number of initiatives that are supporting women-owned businesses within their region.

MojObrt.ba is an online bookkeeping service that allows small business owners/artisans to manage their accounts without using a traditional accountant.

Through the event, Irma Jakić, the founder of MojObrt.ba, was able to connect with other entrepreneur's and gather practical information on how to operate her company.

Irma launched her subscription-based service only three months ago, but already has 180 subscribers. She is planning to continue to grow the subscriber base, revenue, and expand the service into other regions.

Ivana Ćulibrk founded DroidMate, a company that provides a variety of digital solutions for small and medium sized businesses in the form of applications (web and mobile apps) and digital marketing solutions (SEO, PPC, Social Media Management, etc.).

She attended the event to expand her knowledge on the best practices of entrepreneurship and to meet new people and to be part of an experience that will help her as a woman entrepreneur in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

There has been an increase in women's entrepreneurship in Kosovo, where Stephen O'Malley, the UN's Development Coordinator, said that one in every three new businesses is owned by women.

UN Women is organising these satellite events as part of their "EU4 Gender" initiative, which supports women in the private sector and small business ownership.
