Mario Bucaro Appointed as New CEO of Miss Universe Organization

• The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has named Mario Bucaro as its new Chief Executive Officer
• He succeeds Anne Jakrajutatip, who has been CEO since 2022

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has announced the appointment of Mario Bucaro as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Thai entrepreneur Anne Jakrajutatip, who had been CEO since 2022.

It was released on October 29 through MUO's website and following a Board of Directors recent shuffle at JKN Global Group. MUO is jointly owned by JKN Global Group and Legacy Holdings Group, with MUO President Raul Rocha leading the group.

With a complaint from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand pending against her, Jakrajutatip resigned from all her executive positions at JKN Global Group on June 20. 

The company expressed gratitude for her leadership, for which she has brought MUO unprecedented global growth in revenue and strategic partnership relations, as well as moving the organization towards inclusivity and diversity. 

The company also noted that the efforts of Anne will be a permanent part of the organization going forward as she moves her attention toward her family.

Mario previously held the position of Vice President for International Relations at MUO and is well experienced in the field of diplomacy.

He has been an ambassador of Guatemala to Israel and Mexico and is currently the ambassador to Bulgaria and Cyprus. Previously, he also worked as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala.

In his new position, Mario will prioritize the expansion of MUO's global partnerships; expand the institutional presence in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Caribbean, and Africa; and enrich the participant experience quality.

His leadership will also prioritize integrity, equity, and social missions of the organization concerning women's empowerment, leadership and innovation.

Moreover, MUO noted that it is undertaking some internal organizational restructuring to enhance its internal procedures, and to demonstrate its commitment to operational excellence and equity.
