At the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos in front of guests from different parts of the globe as a global entrepreneur and creator, Masoom Minawala pointed out the pressing need in social entrepreneurship with her address on how there was a huge gender gap in the creator economy.
She stated how even though women dominated in influence in society as well as business environments because of their influence in generating more business opportunities for entrepreneurs compared to their male counterpart in the contemporary world’s business arena. Women dominated only 20% of the top spots in the creator economy. Not only was a huge.
Besides these changes, Masoom also highlights other perception barriers that women creators encounter in these spaces. Even though women creators are proven achievers in managing good business operations, it is seen that women creators are not seen as serious entrepreneurs or creators.
With this problem in mind along with the idea of utilizing the economic potential of this creator economy in the best way possible, Masoom has proposed that her idea of combating these concerns is that creative intellectual properties should be regarded as proper assets.
With this idea in mind, the fans base of the creators, music, as well as their equity, could be regarded as proper patents. With this type of idea in mind, the creators, especially the women, could be benefitted in the best way possible
