Bringing extensive administration experience, Ng Wai Han has been named Director of Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ). On 7 May, 2025, the government formalized the appointment through its Official Bulletin, signaling the completion of the administrative shift from Ho lat-Seng’s tenure to the current leadership under Chief Executive Sam.
In a notable leadership transition, the Macau government has appointed Ng Wai Han, former head of the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau, to lead the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.
With a strong track record in public administration, her career spans leadership positions at the Macau Labour Affairs Bureau from 1999 to 2017, followed by her tenure as Deputy Director of the Public Administration Bureau, culminating in her appointment as Director in September 2023.
As reported by Macao News, Ng holds a master’s degree in Criminal Maw from Sun Yat-Sen University. Secretary for Economy and Finance Tai Kin lp, cited her strong professional credentials and demonstrated aptitude as key qualifications for the role. Ng will begin with a one-year term.
At a time when Macau maintains its dominance in global gaming, with 2024 revenues reaching MOP226.8 billion (US$28.1 billion), Ng’s appointment as DICJ Director underscores a strategic move to guide the sector through continued growth, leaving Las Vegas and Singapore significantly behind.
