Olori Atuwatse III Highlights African Women's Empowerment at Ghana Women's Conference

Olori Atuwatse III, the Queen Consort of the Warri Kingdom, highlighted the innate leadership qualities of women while delivering the keynote at the 2025 ‘Women Allying Women Conference’ being held at Cape Coast, Ghana.

The event saw the convergence of the women from across industries along with various notable African women. Speaking at the event which is the brainchild of “Elevate Africa”, Olori Atuwatse III spoke about the need to build on women’s potential. She highlighted the need to empower women and building on their leadership skills in order to contribute to Africa’s social-economic and political future.

The Queen Consort highlighted women’s leadership and empathetic qualities of in managing homes and communities.

In her keynote, she shared desolation at women’s underrepresentation in formal decision-making roles outside household responsibilities.

She also talked about the vision of Women Allying Women in supporting women leaders to reframe societal perceptions of women’s roles.

“Every day, women across homes harness leadership skills that are innate to us. We show empathy, fiscal discipline, and strategic leadership, the kind that nurtures the next generation even as we build our own future.

“Now, we all know that the home is not just a domestic place; it is a microcosm of society that shapes the wider customs, values, structures, and norms. We are the generation that not only climbs the ladder but also steadies it and guides other women up.
