A platform has been created in Dorset to raise the profile of businesses that are led by women or employ women. Power of Women (POW) provides a one-stop directory, where residents can find businesses within many industries that are either led by or employ females.

The website was developed to bridge the wide discrepancy between the high numbers of females involved in businesses yet failing to receive the attention they deserve.

According to Jules, the founder of POW, the platform is more than a directory, and is supposed to bring women's work in every field to the forefront. She said the initiative aimed to highlight women who support local communities and businesses that prioritize supporting women in their workforce.

As part of the launch, Dorset businesses that sign-up early will be given three months free membership. Any business that employs women from one employee to hundreds-can become a member.

The network will provide greater visibility for women in business while giving residents an easy way to know how to support organizations that support equality and representation. All types of businesses are welcome on the platform, from groundwork’s to wellness, hospitality, and legal services.
