Russian BRICS Chair Meets Daw Kyu Kyu Hla to Discuss Women-Led Initiatives

In a formal meeting held at the Federal Council of the Russian Federation recently, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla met with BRICS Russia Chairperson Anna Nesterova to explore shared goals in advancing women’s economic leadership.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the upcoming BRICS Forum and emphasized the importance of involving women form both government and business sector. They explored the global expansion of BRICS Women’s Business Alliances branches, including potential interest in Myanmar. Discussions also covered enhancing entrepreneurship in Myanmar and strengthening cooperation in education and women’s affairs between Myanmar and Russia.

Joining the discussions were high-level representatives from Myanmar, including Daw Nilar, the spouse of the SAC Joint Secretary; military leadership spouses; and key figures such as Daw Khin May Soe of the Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation. Russian officials accompanied the BRICS Alliance Chair to the meeting.

The delegation visited the State Tretyakov Gallery, receiving an expert-led tour from gallery curators who also addressed her questions during the cultural exchange. It offers visitors an in-depth understanding of the country’s artistic evolution, traditions, and heritage, highlighting the sophistication and distinctiveness of Russian fine arts.

At the close of the meeting, symbolic gifts were exchanged between the wife of the Senior General and the Russian Chairwoman, followed by the official photographs with attendees to document the bilateral engagement.
