Seventh Gulf Businesswomen Forum to be held in Doha

The seventh Gulf Businesswomen Forum will be officially held on Wednesday at the Mandarin Oriental Msheireb in Doha, under the sponsorship of Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani.

The two-day event is organized by the Federation of Gulf Cooperation Council Chambers, along with the Qatar Chamber but will receive sponsorship from the GCC General Secretariat and the strategic partnership of QNB.

The event will open with a welcome ceremony attended by Sheikh Faisal bin Abdulla Al Rawas - Chairman of the FGCCC, along with distinguished Gulf business leaders, entrepreneurs, and businesswomen.

Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi - Secretary-General of the Federation of GCC Chambers stated on the first day, the Gulf Businesswomen Platform - which is one of the largest Federation initiatives, will be launched.

It will work towards connecting businesswomen from GCC countries, and in a systematic and digital way, offer a range of benefits so that members can share experiences, facilitate women-led investments and partnerships, and connect with sustainability and the green economy, all in one place.

He noted that the platform is an important step towards empowering Gulf women in the Private sector through enhanced collaboration, communication, and opportunities for increased participation in regional and global markets.

The second day includes various panel discussions based on the major theme. One of the panels will discuss “Gulf Businesswomen and Sustainable Investment,” that identifies current trends in investment of Gulf women and future opportunities.

The second panel will review Gulf Women Entrepreneurs: From Tradition to Innovation,” which discusses the role of women within the digital economy and in innovative business pursuits.

The concluding panel will speak about "Arbitration in Support of Enhancing Gulf Women's Business Environment,” which will focus on how arbitration can support and protect women’s interests in business.

Al Sharqi noted that the variety of topics addressed in this forum demonstrate the growing shift of Gulf women entrepreneurs toward more innovative and sustainable businesses.

He emphasized that this forum also served the Federation's mission of establishing a collaborative Gulf business environment of leadership, innovations, and economic integration among women of the GCC.
