Sharjah-China Forum Boosts Trade Opportunities for Women

 The Sharjah-China Businesswomen Forum was hosted by Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) in Sharjah recently. The forum brought together women entrepreneurs and business representatives from Sharjah and China to explore opportunities for international trade, investment and business expansion.

The platform enabled exchange of business knowledge, market opportunities strengthening networks between the two markets. The forum also emphasised developing economic partnerships and high-value investment relationships to accelerate the growth and worldwide reach of women‑led businesses.

H.E. Counselor Amna Alhammadi said it was important to create new avenues for commercial cooperation, knowledge sharing, market access and strategic alliances as business opportunities continue to grow in both markets. She reiterated the commitment of the UAE-China Women Entrepreneurs’ Council to strengthen these ties and convert them into sustainable business ties, investment partnerships and high-value joint ventures.

“The Sharjah-China Businesswomen Forum provides an important platform for fostering direct business connections between women entrepreneurs in the two countries, opening new channels for cooperation, knowledge exchange, and strategic partnerships that respond to the expanding opportunities across our markets,” she said.

The forum formed part of a wider investment program for the Chinese delegation, which included visits to a number of emirates across the UAE. The program centered on identifying trade and investment opportunities, exploring new areas of economic cooperation, understanding the UAE’s business and investment landscape, and building sustainable partnerships between UAE and Chinese businesses and investors.

The forum also discussed ways of boosting the economic partnership between Sharjah and China, and opening new opportunities for women entrepreneurs to grow their businesses globally. The participants discussed ways to harness trade opportunities, bring women-led enterprises into the fold of global value chains and improve business competitiveness. Discussions also highlighted the significance of innovation, investment in technology and high potential sectors for future economic growth.

Pre-arranged B2B meetings enabled business partnerships; commercial contract, joint venture, and cross-border collaborations as well as paving the way for future economic exchanges and trade delegation.

Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector at SCCI noted that the forum is vital in boosting economic and business ties between the UAE and China, as part of the comprehensive strategic partnership that unites the two countries.

He further added, “The Sharjah Chamber was keen to ensure that the forum served as a platform to explore joint investment opportunities in promising sectors, discuss ways to strengthen economic cooperation, and identify effective approaches to market access and cross-border business growth for both sides.”

The event was attended by H.E. Halima Humaid Ali Al Owais, Board Member of SCCI; H.E. Counselor Amna Alhammadi, Deputy Chief of Mission at the UAE Embassy in Beijing and Chairwoman of the UAE-China Women Entrepreneurs Council; and Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector at SCCI. In addition, 15 Chinese women entrepreneurs participated alongside representatives of prominent companies, investment organisations, and economic institutions from both markets.
