The Sharjah Business Women Council (SBWC) has more to share with the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (Sheraa) and Sharjah Foundation for Supporting Entrepreneurial Projects (Ruwad), to organize a workshop ahead of the Sharjah Trade Mission to China.
The mission will run in Chongqing from 10 to 15 November 2025, and will focus on partnerships and sourcing opportunities.
The workshop was called “Sourcing with Purpose: Know What You Need and Why” and welcomed 16 women entrepreneurs who were selected from a pool of over 300 applications.
The preparatory session was hosted at Sheraa's headquarters in Sharjah focusing on areas of fashion, beauty, retail, and packaging, providing advice and tips on clarifying and determining procurement requirements and developing better sourcing plans as a precursor to the trade mission to China.
Sheikha Hind bint Majid Al Qasimi, the Chair of SBWC, noted that the mission is significant to the UAE entrepreneurship ecosystem in crafting long-lasting business relationships.
Sara Abdelaziz Al Nuaimi, Sheraa CEO, noted the importance of being fully engaged with individuals from diverse cultures to ultimately enable entrepreneurs and create pathways for strategic growth.
Amina Mohammed Abdulrahim, Ruwad Director training, research and events, noted the benefit of a connected workshop in ease of traveling and relationships developed with national projects and international markets.
Aroob Al Husainan, entrepreneur and supply chain advisor, led the workshop and provided insight on how to create trade links between China and the Middle East.
In accordance with the UAE' national campaign "The Emirates: The Startup Capital of the World", the Sharjah Trade Mission seeks to promote the vision of the UAE as the home of Global Entrepreneurship while also elevating Emirati women entrepreneurs on the global stage.
They leave the workshop empowered with sourcing concepts, and broader perspective on collaboration and innovation through global partnerships.
