Stephanie Nelson Joins Boston Scientific as HR VP

Stephanie J. Nelson has joined Boston Scientific as Vice President of Human Resources, where she will work closely with the company’s U.S. Cardiology Sales and Cardiology Clinical Science teams. She brings more than 20 years of experience in human resources, with expertise spanning HR business partnering, talent management, leadership development, recruitment, total rewards, employee relations and organizational support.

Before joining Boston Scientific, Stephanie spent over nine years at UnitedHealth Group, where she held several People Team and Human Capital leadership positions within Optum. Most recently, she served as Vice President, People Team – Optum, supporting the Whole Health Solutions business within Optum Health.

Her previous roles included Senior Director, People Team – Optum Tech, Senior Human Capital Partner, Human Capital Partner and Associate Human Capital Partner, supporting functions across technology, growth, sales, communications, shared services, enterprise integration and government solutions.

Prior to that, Stephanie was an Associate Director MBA Career Services at the Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine where she facilitated MBA students in career strategy, personal branding, networking, interviewing and job search preparation, and cultivated corporate relationships in the areas of consulting and technology.

Prior to this, she served as HR Manager – Jenny Craig Field Operations for Nestlé USA where she was responsible for employee relations, recruiting, succession planning, and performance management and coaching.

Prior to that, she had over two years of HR experience at Medtronic in the MBA Leadership Development Rotational Program, where she worked in a variety of roles in Total Rewards and Learning & Development including sales compensation, benefits, recognition, and technical recruiting & leadership development. From there, she embarked on her career with Target, holding a variety of merchandising positions for 11+ years, then moving to Sr Recruiter – HQ.

Stephanie has a broad background in healthcare, medical technology, retail and higher education, and excelled in her previous role as Vice President of Human Resources, where she had deep leadership experience in people and talent strategies and business partnership.
