Goal Five, a women's sportswear brand and licensed consumer Products Company, announced that it has named Suzanne Berg Currier as its new Chief Executive Officer. She previously worked as the firm's Chief Marketing Officer and sits on its board of directors.
Suzanne has close to 30 years of experience in media, marketing, and consumer brand building. Also according to the firm, some important contributions that she has made at her post include being instrumental in improving the brand position and building its focus on sports performance wear designed for and by female athletes. Additionally, she directly handled the launch of ‘Her Fifth Gear’ stories at her company.
In addition to what she does at Goal Five, Suzanne also directs media and marketing strategy at Woodside Ventures, which is a digital e-commerce marketing agency based in Pittsburgh.
Speaking about her appointment, she said that she is “excited to lead such an important brand that is dedicated to empowering female athletes and designing for women."
However, she also expressed her desire to “continue to tell the story of the transformative role that sport plays in people’s lives.”
The name of the company is taken from the Sustainable Development Goal 5 of the United Nations. The main goal is the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
Ann Kletz, the co-founder and advisor of Goal Five, said that “The brand's values and objectives have always resonated well with Currier.”
Goal Five was also able to confirm that it moved its headquarters from Oakland, California to Pittsburgh in July. The brands are all distributed by sports retailers such as Dick Sporting Goods.
