Tatjana Haenni Becomes First Female CEO of a Bundesliga Club

RB Leipzig has appointed Tatjana Haenni, who is a former international player from Switzerland and an experienced football administrator, as their first female CEO in Bundesliga Club history.

Tatjana has decades of experience including working in senior leadership positions in Women’s Football and has been involved with FIFA for over 10 years; she also served as the manager of Women’s Football at the Swiss Football Association. Until very recently, she was a Sports Director in America with the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).

RB Leipzig’s Supervisory Board Chair Oliver Mintzlaff stated the club was very impressed with Tatjana’s level of knowledge, leadership and strategy as well as the way she presented herself as part of the selection process to determine who would lead RB Leipzig.

Tatjana is 59 years old. She will begin her new role on January 1st, 2026. RB Leipzig (owned by Red Bull) are currently ranked 2nd in the Bundesliga, 8 points behind Bayern Munich, with the Bundesliga going on winter break from December 21, 2022 to January 9, 2023 (This date was indicated incorrectly).

She stated that she is excited about this new opportunity and she believes that RB Leipzig can build on the successes they have already achieved, and achieve their objectives through collaboration and focusing on the strengths of RB Leipzig.
