TBWF Launches Conference to Empower Women-led MSMEs in Nigeria

• The TBWF will organize the inaugural edition of its Influencer Conference
• The conference will support women in Nigeria's MSME sector to move from surviving to scaling sustainably and from managing to leading

The Thriving Business Women Foundation (TBWF) recently shared exciting news about the first edition of its Influencer Conference, a conference that will push women in Nigeria's Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) context to transition from managing, to leading, and from surviving, to scaling sustainably. 

The conference, themed "Grow," will be on October 24th 2025 at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos State, which will see thought leaders, business leaders, and ecosystem players that are committed to supporting women's entrepreneurship and leadership on the African continent. 

In a press conference in Lagos, Mayokun Oreofe, the founder of TBWF, as well CBWF conference convener expressed that her initiative was spurred from her working with women in business over the last 19 years.

She stated that though women in the MSME space are dedicated, hardworking and creative and innovative, they are challenged by structural issues, they do not access resources, and sometimes there is no ecosystem to support their sustainable development.

Mayokun stressed that the Influencer Conference is meant to be the beginning of a long-term movement and not one-day.

Under the initiative, TBWF will also roll out the Influencer Leadership Institute, training and mentoring center that will hone women leaders, boost entrepreneurial capabilities, and establish a peer network for continuous improvement.

Mayokun called the conference a "growth pipeline" that equips attendees with tangible knowledge, leadership experience, visibility, and exposure to an ecosystem conducive to sustainable scaling.

Going forward, the Influencer Leadership Institute will deliver curated learning pathways, mentoring programs, and leadership training to support women in cultivating sustainable businesses and social influence.

Mayokun noted that mentoring and structured support will be critical features to ensure participants have ongoing support and a community even post-conference.

 In conclusion, she encouraged women business owners in Nigeria and across the globe, "When a woman grows, everything around her grows -- her enterprise, her family, and the economy.
