The Thriving Women Project has been announced to relaunch itself in West Cumbria, offering a fully funded three-day course to take place at a venue yet to be disclosed in Whitehaven, as well as another taking place at a later date that March at Cleator Moor.
The success rate that this project has achieved is no less than 77 percent, getting the local women into employment or education. The target group that this experience is aimed at is unemployed women.
The project will be delivered by Lakeland Wellbeing CIC. The organization is a community interest company that focuses on the area of wellbeing, empowerment, and resilience. In an interview, the organization representative was asked to give the reasons behind the project.
The representative responded, "The project aims to empower women by valuing their skills and potential, recognizing the positive outcomes from a previous project."
The delivery method of the course is non-traditional. It uses group exercises, tools, and group discussions rather than lectures. The group size needs to be capped at 12 people. However, each group has to ensure that the entire group attends the program.
The sessions will be held between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm, with lunch in between. In addition to the group sessions, the participants will receive one-on-one coaching sessions, which include a total of three sessions. In addition, there is a graduation function to which they have been invited.
It is inclusive and welcoming and includes neurodiverse and LGBTQ+ women. The January Programme will take place at Whitehaven, on January 20th to 22nd, and the March Programme will take place at Cleator Moor, on March 17th to 19th and is available to women within the West Cumbria Area.
“The Thriving Women Project” is going to be supported entirely by the Cumbria Community Fund. It is going to be led by Jen Maxwell, who is a director of ‘Lakeland Wellbeing CIC’ and an accredited empowerment coach.
