Turkey's First Lady addresses Turkiye-Africa Business Forum

• On Thursday, Turkey's First Lady Emine Erdogan, spoke at the Fifth Turkey-Africa Business and Economic Forum
• She highlighted their women role in creating a new international story

Emine Erdogan summed up the theme by saying that women must be the first ones to shape a new global agenda by their activities.

In her speech at the 5th Africa-Turkiye Business and Economic Forum on Thursday. She said that women, in view of such terrible things as wars, genocides, climate change, and poverty, have to be the major forces of driving the new world agenda.

Besides that, she claimed that women are the ones who come up with the solutions and they are the leaders of a peaceful culture and that the participation of women in the economic life is not only good for them but also for the whole society.

She was also confident that the combined empathy and leadership of women will pave the way for new solutions to both human and environmental problems and that women's participation is indispensable if the world wants to confront environmental and humanitarian challenges effectively.

Reflecting on her travels to 30 African countries since the launch of the African initiative of Turkey in 2005, commended African women for their resistance, cleverness, and the factors they made in their localities.

She looked forward to the future, pointing out the youthful populations and the increasing start-up communities in both areas, and stated that if given the right support, women could be the ones to lead and thus make Türkiye and Africa the two big contributors to the global economy in the 21st century.

After the forum, Emine wrote down her thoughts about the panel discussion "Women Leadership and Entrepreneurship Dialogue" which was about promoting women's participation in the economy.

She also connected herself to Africa on a personal level, saying that she has a special place in her heart for Africa and that she has never stopped admiring the African women's endurance and unity during her visits.

Moreover, she drew attention to the support of African women in business through the establishment of the Africa Handicrafts Market and Cultural House Association.

It is the forum that keeps on providing an opportunity for deepening Türkiye - Africa cooperation relationship and at the same time advancing the empowerment of women as leaders of change and progress.
