Turkic Women Entrepreneurs Unite at Turkish House New York

A conference entitled “From Unity of Hearts to Unity of Strength: Turkic World Entrepreneurship Ecosystem” was held at the Turkish House with the participation of women entrepreneurs from Turkey and Azerbaijan.

This event was organized by the Gender Equality Commission of Turkey’s Grand National Assembly. Azerbaijani State Committee for Family, Women and Children Chairwoman Bahar Muradova spoke on this occasion, stating that the intent of the platform is to create economic cooperation among woman-owned businesses by helping them develop common values and enhance their respective economies.

In addition to this, she noted that shared cultural, historical continuity and experiences of the Turkic nations will further facilitate opportunities for economic collaboration between the two nations.

Bahar shared that there are many economic transformations occurring globally, such as the emerging green economy, digital transformation and innovation and all of these transformations create new opportunities. Women business owners are essential to creating inclusive economic growth.

She concluded by stating that increasing the number of women participating in economic activities will increase both GDP and job creation.

The Committee Chairperson stated that the promotion of women's entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan is a primary focus of the Azerbaijani government and thanked Turkey for the significant contributions to women's entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan. While at the event, Bahar Muradova, met with several Azerbaijani women.
