  • UAE is currently hosting the First Emirati-Kuwaiti Women’s Forum
  • The forum is being held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union

The First Emirati-Kuwaiti Women’s Forum will take place in the UAE from 3 February 2025 through to 3 February 2026.

It has been developed with the support of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation and the Chairwoman of General Women’s Union (GWU) as well as the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the theme of “Together We Are... Together We Become... Together We Create Tomorrow”.

The Forum has been organised to answer His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, who wanted to create an event that would demonstrate the importance of the relationship between Emiratis and Kuwaitis in regards to women’s empowerment and in developing future generations within both societies.

It is a means to connect two mature National Frameworks to help support both countries towards achieving and sustaining social and economic development.

This year’s Forum reflects UAE's 50/50 Vision "Mother of the Nation" which acknowledges women as being vital contributors to both own families and the development of the UAE over next 50 Years (also see "Women's Development").

Kuwait has developed an extensive and ambitious strategy entitled "New KUWAIT and Vision 2035", which recognises human capital and empowering national capacities towards achieving the future of Kuwait to be extremely important.

The most visible part of this year’s Forum is an Interactive Exhibition sponsored by the Department of Economic Development with support from Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development.

Located at GWU HQ, the exhibition will highlight successful models of economic activity created by productive enterprises (SME); will feature traditional handicrafts, regional cooking, artistry, and cultural heritage (Emirati, Kuwaiti) fashion and how women have taken heritage and made sustainable economic and social value.

This week, there are over 40 other community and cultural events taking place in the UAE in addition to the forum. In addition to the forum, there are the UAE-Kuwait Media Forum (focusing on digital youth voices), the Economic Forum (being held on February 2), and the lighting of city landmarks in the Kuwaiti national colours.

The forum builds on the success of PAM’s second Women Parliamentary Forum that began in Abu Dhabi on January 27, 2026. Both represent the UAE’s commitment to serving as a regional centre for developing legislative and social frameworks that allow emergent women leaders to move from “participation” to “strategic leadership,” which was also indicted by and supported by Etihad Credit Insurance ECI) at the 2026 BAFT MENA Forum.
