Victoria Pointon Joins OpenAI as Head of Deal Strategy - APJ

OpenAI, an artificial intelligence research and deployment company, has appointed Victoria Pointon as Head of Deal Strategy – Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ). She brings around 15 years of experience in commercial strategy, deal structuring, business operations, sales, and project finance, with expertise in strategic negotiations and international commercial operations.

In her new position, Victoria will join OpenAI’s regional team, contributing her knowledge of deal strategy and commercial negotiations to support the company’s business objectives across Asia Pacific and Japan.

Prior to joining OpenAI, Victoria worked at Okta for more than three years as Head of Deal Strategy – APJ. During her tenure, she was responsible for supporting commercial negotiations and developing deal strategies across the Asia Pacific and Japan region.

Prior to his move to Everpure, Victoria worked about six and a half years at the company, moving through various positions in sales, customer experience operations and deal strategy. Most recently, she was involved in the Deal Strategy – APAC team, and previously held roles in customer experience operations and sales, across Australia and New Zealand. This experience deepened her knowledge of the local business landscape, customer relationships, and strategic deal negotiations.

Prior to this, Victoria spent some six years as Project Finance Manager with McDermott International on international projects in the United Kingdom, United States and the Netherlands. She has a Keele University Bachelor’s degree in International Relations. Her hire adds some business acumen, financial management, and regional business knowledge to OpenAI's APJ arm.
