Singapore-based Deep Tech Startup SixSense, founded by Women Engineers Avni Agarwal (CEO) and Akanksha Jagwani (CTO), have raised $ 8.5 million in series A funding, giving the total to around $ 12 million. This AI-driven semiconductor platform converts how chip manufacturers detect and prevent errors in real-time production lines.
The funding round was led by Peak XV's Surge (formerly Sequoia India & Sea), with participation from Alpha Intelligence Capital, FEBE Ventures, and others.
SixSense was launched in 2018, and was born out of the co-founders' vision to solve a critical problem in the chip production and make large volumes of raw production data such as defect images and equipment signals for real-time insights. Despite the semiconductor industry's precision, the duo noticed a large gap in real -time -intelligence on the fab floor.
With a background in AI, data systems and automation, Avni and Akanksha evaluated several industries before realizing that the semiconductor sector, known for its complexity, still depends on manual and fragmented quality controls. Avni, who previously built large data analysis systems on the Visa, and Akanksha, who led the automation initiatives for Hyundai Motors and GE, combined their expertise to build a six sense.
Their AI-powered platform offers process engineers (not just data scientists) the ability to defects, identify root causes, and predict early faults without writing a single line of code. Engineers can adjust AI models using their own fab data and deploy it in less than two days, making the solution powerful and easy to use.
Currently used by industry leaders such as GlobalFoundries and JCET, Sixsense has already processed more than 100 million chips, providing results like 30% faster production, 1 to 2% higher yield and up to 90% less manual inspection. The system also supports inspection equipment that cover more than 60% of the global market.
With customers in Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and Israel, Sixsense is now expanding to the United States, riding the wave of new investments in manufacturing driven by geopolitical changes.
As new fabs appears throughout India, Vietnam and the USA, Sixsense is well positioned on scale-especially because many of these facilities are free of inherited and more open systems to AI native innovations from the beginning.
This milestone is not only a victory for semiconductor innovation, but also a strong testimony of the technological leadership led by women in the deep technology industries.
