The "Step Into Your Power" program for women working in the HVACR industry is scheduled for May 12-13, at the Houston Marriott Westchase. This two-day conference allows women to network and connect with each other within the HVACR industry.
"Networking and building relationships with other women in your field and fellow employees (also known as mentoring) gives you the opportunity to grow as an employee and leader in that trade," says Jane Sidebottom, director of regional meetings.
Angela Gargano is the keynote speaker for this event. Her presentation focuses on resiliency in the workplace, building self-confidence, and how to show your leadership ability.
Angela has an extensive background as biochemist, Miss Fitness America, and published author; she helps people by sharing experiences about how they overcame difficulties to achieve success professionally and personally.
On May 12 there will be a networking reception to welcome all participants; then on May 13 we will hold a combination of workshops, educational seminars based on leadership or enhancing your career through mentorship, plus a panel discussion where participants can share career development ideas.
The agenda will also include discussions regarding how to help Mentors grow their mentorship through creating opportunities and how to attract more women into the HVAC&R industry.
Women in HVAC have also established themselves as an active member of our industry's efforts to help address these problems. Cost for current members is $499; nonmembers cost $599.
