Yongsan district in Seoul announced the opening of the 2026 Yongsan Women’s Startup Academy, held May 7 at Yongsan Women’s Plaza for 24n women preparing to launch businesses under the project’s third cohort.
The program’s course is structured in basic and advance phases, with the foundational course running twice weekly through June 2, covering business planning, market research, customer analysis, and key start-up procedures. In addition, the advanced course will be scheduled from June 4 through July 2 focusing on practical start-up management topics, including accounting, financial planning, funding programs, and crowd funding strategies.
In its third year of operations, the program offers customized business development support to women seeking entrepreneurial opportunities. The applicants will be selected through a formal process of screening and interview process.
The academy will reinforce artificial intelligence training while launching an alumni networking session designed to share entrepreneurial insights and support early-stage business development. The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor Heeyoung Park and Eunju Park, Director of the Yongsan Women’s Human Resources Development Center, highlighting institutional support for the initiative.
Across it first and second cohorts, 13 start-ups were supported under the program spanning beauty care, children’s cosmetics, education, and service sectors. Yongsan District planning continued collaboration with the Yongsan Women’s Human Resources Development Center to expand post-program support.
