Beyond Boundaries, in collaboration with the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship and Leadership, successfully hosted the Young Women in Leadership Conference 2025 — the very first-ever event to take place at the State House in Abuja. This maiden event was strategically planned to empower Nigerian women aged 21 to 35 by addressing some of the key issues such as leadership, access to capital, financial literacy, and digital empowerment.
As Beyond Boundaries founder Olu Olufemi-White put it, "Welcoming young women at the center of national leadership symbolises the future Nigeria needs to adopt — one where women are not only visible but empowered to lead in governance, business, technology, and creative industries."
The conference is a key milestone in the campaign to grow women's economic empowerment and leadership in Nigeria. It was not an event but the birth of a long-term movement that will make a generation of difference.
Other notable guests present were Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy Hannatu Musa Musawa, Minister of Women Affairs Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, and other prominent corporate figures like Owen Omogiafo, Ibukun Oyedeji, and music sensation Teniola Apata.
In addition to motivational speeches, the conference provided tangible returns. Participants were awarded scholarships for digital literacy training—a vital step in preparing young women with the tools to succeed in the present era of technology. Solar panels were also provided through a raffle, providing renewable energy options to women who live in disadvantaged communities, assisting in the support of personal development as well as small business endeavors.
One scholarship and solar panel recipient said, "Winning these gifts turned my life around. I now have the resources to establish a career and the self-assurance to lead. This conference provided me with hope and a future I had never envisioned."
