Betty Friedan - Women’s Liberation Movement

In the 1960s the United States witnessed the liberation movement Betty Friedan was the major contributor for the social movement. She raised her voice against the oppressive women who were confined to domestic circles even in cases when they were educated and had ambitions.
The feminine mystique of her impactful writing contained what she had described as the problem with no name. Betty portrays why women were not accepted by the society like men, they only limited their identities to wives and mothers.
The book describes a lot of gender roles issues, independence and employment of women. Later she became the co-founder of a national organization of women that provides equal pay, equality in the work place, and safety against the discrimination. She contributed to the advancement of significant legal and social reforms that opened more opportunities to women in education and employment as well as in the life of the population.
