Aster DM Healthcare launches women's health program in UAE

Aster DM Healthcare in UAE has introduced a comprehensive women's health program that encompasses preventive, diagnostic and specialist care within a single framework to care for women throughout their lives, from adolescence to menopause and beyond.

The program is rolled out in Aster Hospitals and Clinics under the banner of "Care for Her" and under Medcare network under the banner of " Elle by Medcare", a premium program. The two platforms work together to deliver a structured, life-stage approach to healthcare with a focus on prevention, early diagnosis, treatment and long-term support for wellness.

The program has been designed to fill a void in the healthcare system as a way of providing women with coordinated health services which can meet the different health needs at various life stages, the healthcare group said. The four phases it is organized around are teens and twenties, young women, and perimenopause and menopause with specific clinical pathways, preventive screenings and multidisciplinary consultations supporting each phase.

In her speech on the occasion of its launch, Alisha Moopen, Managing Director & Group CEO, Aster DM Healthcare, said that many women do not receive timely guidance as they lead busy lifestyles and do not have adequate support systems. The group used its expertise in women's health to establish a network that would be able to support women at all stages of life, she said.

Moopen said the idea is to empower women with a deeper understanding to make informed choices about their health by providing them with tailored advice and streamlined healthcare services. She said the program is a "first in its kind" in the UAE, as it brings together the knowledge of various specialties and provides holistic care.

Services are provided, including hormone replacement therapy (HRT), support for reproductive and sexual health, thyroid and metabolic health care, mental health counseling, and specialty consultations on endocrinology, cardiology, internal medicine, and dermatology. The multidisciplinary model encompasses treating not just the physical, but the hormonal, emotional and metabolic well-being.

Aster Hospital Al Mankhool, Aster Hospital Al Qusais and various Aster Clinics throughout Dubai – such as Bur Dubai, Aster Hospital Muteena, Aster Hospital Discovery Gardens, Aster Hospital Arabian Ranches, Aster Hospital Al Qusais and Aster Hospital Al Khail – will offer “Care for Her”. The program provides a coordinated referral, diagnostics, treatment, follow-up consultation and long-term health tracking, with dedicated care coordinators.

On its part, "Elle by Medcare" will offer a more personalized healthcare experience at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital, Medcare Women & Children Hospital, Medcare Hospital Sharjah, Medcare Sheikh Saqr Al Qasimi Hospital and selected Medcare Medical Centres. It starts with a gynecology consultation, then progresses to specific care plans with multiple medical specialties and advanced medical tests.

In this regard, Aster DM Healthcare will also be setting up Adolescence Clinics and Menopause Clinics to cater to two life stages, which are often lacking in special care. The clinics will be based on early intervention, health education and long-term planning for the benefit of women and families.

In addition to hospital-based services, the healthcare provider will be running awareness campaigns, workshops, wellness programs for the corporate sector, and outreach programs for schools. Through these activities this will be expected to promote early awareness of women's health problems, health literacy and promote preventive healthcare, particularly in adolescents.
