Mavida Health intends to keep on functioning as an independent company whilst keeping its current leadership and operation structure. The acquisition will in all likelihood help the company to ramp up its growth and widen the reach to women and families specialized mental healthcare services.

Under this deal, WPS's Chief Growth Officer Rochelle Myers is also to become president of Mavida Health.

Rochelle stated, “One of the primary reasons WPS pursued this acquisition was to help accelerate Mavida’s growth and expand access to specialized mental healthcare for more women and families.”

Mavida is presently in business in California, New Jersey, New York, and Texas, and it has intentions to move into other states, such as Wisconsin.

The brainchild of Dr. Sarah Oreck and Emma Sugerman in 2023, the company from Los Angeles offers individual and group therapy, medication management, and mental health supporting services that are specifically tailored to women's reproductive health experiences.

This site concentrates on mental disorders and life stages connected to reproductive health, such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), fertility, pregnancy, postpartum care, pregnancy loss, and menopause.

“Joining WPS gives us the scale to reach more women and families, especially every woman who has ever been told her symptoms were normal when they weren’t,” said Dr. Sarah.

Mavida had raised $1.5 million in seed funding before and it's mentioned that they have closed more undisclosed round in 2024, according to PitchBook.

WPS Health Solutions, a company formerly called Wisconsin Physicians Service Insurance Corporation which changed its name in 2024, runs several health insurance and healthcare services businesses that primarily focus on the government.

WPS CEO Wendy Perkins said that the deal will enable the company to "more effectively satisfy the rising needs" of women's mental health services.

Rochelle said, “We see strong demand for services that address mental health needs related to the broader reproductive journey – from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), to fertility, pregnancy, postpartum care, pregnancy loss and menopause.”

She added, “Employers understand that supporting these needs can have a meaningful impact on workforce wellbeing, engagement and retention. One of the primary reasons WPS pursued this acquisition was to help accelerate Mavida’s growth and expand access to specialized mental healthcare for more women and families,” Myers told Behavioral Health Business. Mavida currently operates in several states, and we’re actively evaluating opportunities to expand into additional markets, including Wisconsin. In fact, we’ve already begun taking the necessary steps to support future operations in Wisconsin. While we’re still working through our expansion plans, our goal is simple: reach more women, more families, and more communities with high-quality mental health services.”
