In addition, Berry Street has been growing its network by engaging in partnerships with top retail and health technology firms. The company partnered with Walmart's Better Care Services, along with Twin Health, Curai Health, Wheel, and Aaptiv in April in order to make evidence-based weight management care easier, especially GLP-1 therapy. It also expanded into Amazon's Health Benefits Connector, a platform through which customers can find and sign up for employer-based digital health offerings.
Felicity Yost, cofounder and CEO of Tia, said, "Many women come to Tia looking for answers to symptoms that don't fit neatly into a single specialty, especially during midlife when hormonal changes can affect everything from energy and sleep to weight, mood, and metabolic health,"
"Nutrition is often an important part of the picture, but it's rarely integrated into care in a meaningful way. Through this partnership with Berry Street, we're making it easier for women to access specialized nutrition support that's connected to the rest of their healthcare journey."
With the backing of a large investor pool, Berry Street secured $50 million of financing last year to aid its expansion plans for its nutrition-oriented healthcare ecosystem. The list of investors included Northzone, the founder of Revolut, Sofina, FJ Labs, the founders of Spring Health and Grow Therapy, and the CEO of Found, among others.
When it comes to strategic partnerships, Tia has also been taking big strides in enhancing its healthcare domain. It has been bolstering its digital healthcare ecosystem via collaborations with various firms like Nourish for nutritional consultations and Talkspace for psychological services.
Tia’s growth has been attributed to both robust financial backing and collaboration in the healthcare sector. In March 2023, the company received an undisclosed investment from Pivotal Ventures, which is an investment and incubation fund that was created by Melinda French Gates. This brought the company's total investments to $150 million. Since its formation, Tia has received $100 million of series B financing in 2021, $24.27 million series A financing in 2020, and $2.5 million in seed financing in 2017.
