Beyoncé has landed herself in the America’s richest self-made women list, as per the latest rankings put out by Forbes. This comes just six months after Forbes officially announcement, that the global music icon had already reached billionaire status, with her net worth sitting at around $1 billion.
Forbes noted most of Beyoncé Knowles Carter’s wealth was built over nearly three decades inside the music industry, not only as a solo artist, but also as part of that famous girl group Destiny’s Child. And one big push behind the whole financial step was the Cowboy Carter Tour back in 2025, it reportedly pulled in more than $450 million from ticket sales, and merchandise income too.
In the Forbes breakdown the tour is described as a major factor in getting Beyoncé’s net worth past the billion line. The magazine said, “The majority of pop star Beyoncé Knowles' net worth comes from her roughly three decades as a solo performer and a member of the girl-group Destiny's Child.”
Key Highlights
Beyoncé is one of only a select few women from the media and entertainment world who show up on Forbes’ annual list. Taylor Swift and Rihanna, both big music superstars, were there too. Even though Beyoncé and Rihanna land on the same ranking spot, Swift ended up placed much higher, a clear step ahead on that page.
Forbes said “Rihanna’s fortune comes mostly from her business ventures, things like the blockbuster Fenty Beauty cosmetics line and the Savage X Fenty lingerie brand”. Other notable women on the rankings included Oprah Winfrey and Kim Kardashian.
And outside of the music scene, Beyoncé has kept making news with her big-ticket investments and luxury real estate buys. She and her husband Jay-Z purchased a Malibu mansion for $200 million, which at the time was the priciest residential sale in California. Later, that record got overtaken when entrepreneur Jim Jannard sold his own Malibu property for $210 million.
Beyoncé still holds multiple cultural and industry milestones. For example, she’s now the most-awarded Grammy winner ever, with 35 Grammy Awards in total. She also made history as the first Black artist to headline the Coachella music festival.
As for Jay-Z, he’s still viewed as one of the most successful music entrepreneurs worldwide. Forbes also describes him as “hip-hop’s first billionaire.” Beyond his music career, he kept building wealth through investments in art, high-end beverages, technology, and entertainment companies. . His portfolio includes Roc Nation, stakes in Uber, fine art holdings, and notable transactions involving Ace of Spades champagne and D’Usse cognac.
Meanwhile, fans continue to await Beyoncé’s highly anticipated “Act III” album. The project is expected to complete the trilogy that began with Renaissance and continued with Cowboy Carter. While no official release date has been announced, the album is widely anticipated to mark the final chapter of one of the artist’s most successful creative eras.
