Women in PR North America is set to officially launch a new awards program recognizing women and organizations making an impact in public relations, communications, media and marketing. The awards were launched at a networking reception on October 7, 2026, at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia Hawksworth Restaurant in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The new awards program will recognize professionals and organizations contributing to innovation, leadership and progress across the communications industry. While the launch will take place in Vancouver, candidates from around the world will be eligible to apply. Nominations are expected to open following the launch reception.
The awards program was first announced when Women in PR North America participated in a Toronto Stock Exchange Market Close ceremony ahead of its 2026 WorkWell Conference. The initiative aims to provide greater visibility to women leaders and organizations making meaningful contributions to the industry.
Key Highlights:
The awards will recognize the efforts of women helping define the future of the communications industry, Talia Beckett Davis, Founder and CEO of Women in PR North America, stated. She emphasized the need to appreciate innovation and to increase the visibility of leaders in the industry.
October 7 will mark the Women in PR North America Awards Launch Party & Networking Reception, sponsored by Notified, which will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. It will be a gathering for professionals from the public relations, investor relations, communications, media, and business sectors.
During the reception, attendees will have the chance to meet with other industry professionals, get to know more about the awards program and interact with the Women in PR North America community. Attendance is open to all professionals – whether intending to apply for an award or not.
After the Vancouver event, the professionals are expected to nominate a person from their country in various fields of media, PR, marketing and communication, in the spirit of leadership. Recipients will be announced at the 2027 Work Well Conference on May 6, 2027, at St. Lawrence Hall in Toronto.
In addition, Women in PR North America is seeking speakers, thought leaders and change makers to apply for speaking opportunities to be a part of the conference.
