Cradlewise Raises $12M Series A to Expand AI Smart Cribs Globally

Consumer health and wellness startup Cradlewise has secured $12 million in a Series A funding round, with 3one4 Capital and Prudent Investment Management leading the investment.

The latest round takes Cradlewise’s total funding raised $26 million. The company’s investor base also includes Sean O’Sullivan Ventures, Footwork VC, Charles River Ventures, 3one4 Capital, and Prudent Investment Management.

Cradlewise plans to deploy the new capital towards business growth, expanding its distribution channels, strengthening product research and development, and entering new geographic markets. The company announced the funding in a press release.

Founded in 2019 by Radhika Patil and Bharath Patil, Cradlewise is an AI-focused consumer technology company developing smart cribs for babies. Its products are designed to automatically soothe infants and support better sleep for babies and their parents.

Its AI-powered cribs monitor a baby's motion, noise, sleep activity, and more contextually. It has a mechanism to use this information to anticipate when a baby will be waking and will intervene before the baby is fully awake.

According to Cradlewise, its technology can be used to save up to 2 hours of effort a day for parents. They have patents on the hardware and sensing systems and claim that their models are trained on over 75 million hours of sleep data.

The company also has an integrated manufacturing plant in Pune to manufacture, test and pack thousands of cribs per month. It will provide more control to Cradlewise over quality, product development and costs, it said.

The smart sleep system from Cradlewise uses a crib, contactless monitoring, adaptive motion and connected app to identify early signs of stirrings and aid babies to settle before waking.

The company's products are designed to solve issues related to infant sleep and parental fatigue as it targets the rising overlap between consumer tech, AI and parenting.

Cradlewise has been building its footprint in the global parenting and baby-tech industry, creating a range of products that aim to seamlessly combine automation, data and convenience for new parents.
