Good Hope FM Launches 2026 Warrior Woman Awards in South Africa

Good Hope FM has announced the launch of the third annual Warrior Woman Awards, celebrating women who are making a meaningful difference in their communities and contributing to a better city, province and nation.

The 2026 awards were launched during a live broadcast and event at the SABC's Sea Point studios. Spearheaded by The Morning Show with Leigh-Anne Williams, the initiative recognizes women whose work is creating a positive impact across various areas of society.

Now in its third year, the Warrior Woman Awards will honor women fighting hunger, supporting vulnerable communities, creating jobs, advancing education, promoting health and wellness, strengthening neighbourhoods, inspiring others through sport and contributing to culture and creativity.

There are 10 awards categories for 2026 including: The Hunger Fighter Award, The Community Care Award, The Job Creator Award, The Education Champion Award, The Wellness Warrior Award, The Community Builder Award, The Change-Maker Award, The Rising Warrior Award, Sporting Champion Award, The Creative Impact Award.

The categories will include the Rising Warrior Award for young women (18-30 years) already making a difference in studies, career, business, and community, advocacy or personal pursuits.

The Change-Maker Award will recognize women making a difference by challenging perceptions and breaking barriers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, business, skilled trades, aviation, and media and the arts.

This year's finalists will not only be recognized on air and receive a finalists' specially designed Warrior Woman Awards trophy, but they will also be able to win shopping vouchers to be used at Canal Walk worth R20,000.

Entries are now open for the 2026 Warrior Woman Awards and are due back on Wednesday, September 16. After the nomination process, each category will have 3 finalists. The polls will be open to the public on WhatsApp and will be open until the weekend of October 31, when the winners will be announced during a live broadcast.

The awards are meant to highlight women who are continuing to inspire and uplift others in their work and achievements despite facing a challenging world, said Masi Mdingane, Business Manager for 5FM and Good Hope FM.

These Warrior Woman Awards were launched in 2024 and will continue to be an annual event that celebrates South African women from diverse backgrounds who are making a difference and inspiring individuals in their communities.
