The Excellent Women Festival, which is to be held at the Holroyd Community Theatre, announced that they would be having a panel discussion on March 8, “centered on female authors, female readers, and some of the most popular themes in literature.”
The panel discussion, which is to be titled “What Women Want…”, aims to look into what women want as pertains to reading materials, and they are to be composed of three best-selling authors
Panelist Paula Sutton is a Country Living columnist as well as the digital creator of Hill House Vintage. She commented that "The emphasis on women, literature, and creativity as embodied by this festival, particularly in relation to International Women’s Day, is very in keeping with our town’s literary history."
Paula will be joined by romantic fiction author Karen Swan and Harriet Tyce, who is a crime fiction author with a background in law. The conversation will include what draws people to certain genres of books, such as romance, crime fiction, and cosy mysteries.
The discussion will be moderated by Alison Barrow, publicity director of Penguin Books. It was conceived by Carrie Morris from Booka Bookshop and author event host Caroline Lang, and it has been promoted by many writers across the country.
In her comment on the event, Harriet Tyce said, “I look forward to returning to Booka Bookshop and engaging in discussions to celebrate books by a diverse group of writers.”
The Excellent Women Festival will have a Programme of authors numbering more than 20, with the events aiming to interest the audience, facilitate discussion, and explore various views.
