Gwangju Meet Addresses Women Entrepreneurs' Tax Issues

The Gwangju Regional Tax Office and Gwangju branch of the Korea Federation of Women Entrepreneurs held a field communication meeting. One of the main purposes of the meeting was to hear the tax-related difficulties through which the women entrepreneurs in the area of Gwangju are going, as well as to discuss how to assist them concerning this matter.

On April 22, the Gwangju Regional Tax Office organized a field communication meeting in the conference room on the 2nd floor of Gwangju Technopark, where the executives and members of the Gwangju branch of the Korea Federation of Women Entrepreneurs come together.

The main aim of this meeting was to exchange local women entrepreneurs' experience in tax administration difficulties and to find possible support measures. The event was a great opportunity for the participants to find out about tax systems beneficial for business activities including the taxpayer rights protection system and corporate tax deduction and exemption programs.

During the discussion, at least a couple of participants expressed their requests for extending tax payment deadlines and decreasing the burden of tax audits on small and medium-sized enterprises. Different opinions on these issues were raised.

President Lee Minsun said in her greeting, "I am very pleased to be part of this meaningful occasion where we can share the real voices of women entrepreneurs regarding tax administration," adding, "I hope that through this meeting, we can work together to create a healthier and more vibrant economic environment."

Commissioner Kim Hakseon of the Gwangju Regional Tax Office expressed his gratitude by saying, “I sincerely thank the women entrepreneurs who have faithfully paid their taxes even in these difficult economic circumstances both domestically and internationally," and added, "We will do our best to provide active tax administration support so that local business people can focus solely on their management activities.”
