HEX Appoints Frances Goh as New Entrepreneur in Residence

Melbourne-based edtech firm HEX has hired Frances Goh, co-founder of the One Roof platform for female leaders and entrepreneurs and startup community builder, as its new Entrepreneur in Residence.

In this position, Frances will be driving women-owned businesses and business development in the Asia Pacific region. She will co-deliver a multi-year program entitled Generation Next: ASEAN, Australian and Timorese Women Leading Economic Growth, supported by HEX.

The 13-week initiative, funded by the ASEAN-Australia Centre, will offer fully funded scholarships for grants to 30 female founders from ASEAN, Australia, and Timor-Leste.

Generation Next aims to catalyze business development and economic empowerment of female entrepreneurs through online education customized mentoring, and real business experience.

Frances said that her job mostly entails facilitating HEX's expansion and growth initiatives, especially in the ASEAN region. She added that the Generation Next program and a trade mission are among major programs enhancing regional links and empowering women founders.

HEX co-founder and CEO Jeanette Cheah further stated that the position will also help shape HEX's entrepreneurship curriculum, while complementing actual experience, concepts, and networks for students' and entrepreneurs' benefits participating in HEX's initiatives.

Jeanette highlighted the objective of securing more favorable results for HEX students and alumni, revealing that one in five HEX alumni now launch a business, and some 42 percent of these go on to employ others.

She outlined the organization's plans to continue enhancing these results by enabling more alumni to start companies, create jobs for others, and raise capital.
