Three outstanding captains—Scotland's Kathryn Bryce, West Indies' Hayley Matthews, and Pakistan's Fatima Sana—have been shortlisted for the ICC Player of the Month for April after their outstanding performances at the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 Qualifier, as per the official confirmation on the ICC website.

Kathryn Bryce Scotland's captain led from the front, taking her team through a nail-biting World Cup qualifying series in Pakistan. She was the highest run-getter in the tournament, with 293 runs in five matches at an average of 73.25, including one hundred and two half-centuries. Her highest score was against Ireland, where she made an un-beaten 131 off 137 balls—the tournament's top individual score. Bryce also pitched in with bowling, having taken six wickets, and was awarded the Player of the Tournament for all-around brilliance.

West Indies captain Hayley Matthews displayed her all-rounder skills, keeping the World Cup hopes of her team alive till the last match. She contributed 240 runs at a strike rate of 116.50 and average of 60, and led the wicket chart with 13 wickets at 15.84. The highlight was her first match against Scotland, in which she took four wickets and then came back with a dominant century. In a winning must-win match against Thailand, Matthews contributed a scorching 70 from 29 balls, but the team fell short of qualifying owing to a net run rate difference of a mere 0.01.

Captain of the host country, Pakistan's Fatima Sana led an untarnished record, earning World Cup qualification through five straight wins. She topped Pakistan's wicket-taking with 12 at a stingy economy rate of 3.97. She also performed with the bat, with performances such as a match-winning unbeaten 62 against Thailand, which shows her contribution in Pakistan's dominating tournament performance.
