ITC Appoints Krista Tanner as Next CEO

  • ITC Holdings Corp. announced that CEO Linda Apsey will retire on March 22, 2026
  • Krista Tanner has been appointed President and CEO and will take over on March 23, 2026
  • Tanner will also join the company’s Board of Directors

 

Sandra Pierce, Chair of the Board of Directors of ITC Holdings Corp. (ITC), today announced that CEO Linda Apsey has decided to retire from the company and its Board of Directors, effective March 22, 2026. Krista Tanner has been named President and CEO and will join the Board, effective in both roles on March 23, 2026.

Linda will retire after 23 years with ITC and 32 years in the energy industry. A founding member of ITC's leadership team, she has been at the helm of the company since 2016 and previously held the positions of President  & CEO, Executive Vice President, Chief Business Officer, and President of ITC Michigan.

She oversaw major capital programs; improvements in reliability; strong safety performance; and workforce growth during her tenure.

In comments, Apsey thanked ITC employees and the Board for the company's advancement during her time with the company and shared her confidence in Tanner to lead ITC into the future.

Tanner was named President of ITC in 2024 and has had responsibility for the company's overall business operations.  She served previously as Senior Vice President and Chief Business Officer

Tanner joined the company in 2014 as President of ITC Midwest. Prior to joining ITC, she held various positions at Alliant Energy, including serving on the Iowa Utilities Board and practicing law in Iowa.

She said that she looks forward to leading the company into the future as the energy sector continues to evolve, pointing to various challenges and opportunities alike brought by changing energy needs.

David Hutchens, President and CEO of Fortis Inc., acknowledged Linda's invaluable dedication to ITC and pointed out that Tanner's experience will support the company's ongoing growth within the evolving energy environment.
