International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Global Region 2, directed by Seoyeon Lee, inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for peace collaboration with Mujgan Tahery, founder and CEO of the Uniting Circle Multicultural Community Centre in Australia.

The signing occurred during the “2025 World Women’s Peace Conference” held at the Enford Hotel in Cheongju, Chungbuk, on the 19th of last month.

The MOU includes collaborative efforts to improve women’s empowerment and a culture of peace. Collaborative activities will be grounded in ongoing education for women regarding peace, ongoing liaison and international exchange among leaders of peace, and fostering peace networks through multicultural engagements.

Mujgan Tahery expressed her appreciation for IWPG programs and her positive impression of the 9·18 World Peace Summit and the conference in 2025.

She was also interested in further collaboration to undertake joint peace initiatives through IWPG within the Sydney community.

Director Seoyeon said this partnership coincides with IWPG’s dedication to the agenda of global peace, encouraging greater participation in peace-building activities for women and youth.

The two organizations also intend to build on this collaboration by developing women’s peace education programs and global initiatives exclusively for the Sydney area.

IWPG is a global women's NGO recognized by the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the UN Department of Global Communications (DGC). Its headquarters are in Seoul, Republic of Korea, with 115 branches in 122 countries and over 800 partner organizations in 68 countries.

It continues its efforts to create a sustainable world of peace through global solidarity and peace education for women and cultural advocacy for the “Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).”
