Senate President Faisal Fayez officially opened the ‘Digitization for Economic Empowerment in a Fast-Growing World’ conference in Aqaba on Sunday. The conference was hosted by the Entrepreneurship Center in partnership with the Arabia Center for Entrepreneurship and Empowerment.

Focusing on the intersection of innovation and economic growth, the conference explores scalable approached to entrepreneurship and digital disruption. The event features influential voices from across the Arab world and celebrated impactful case studies and leadership models.

In his opening address, Senate President Faizal highlighted the strides Jordanian women have made across economic, social, and political domains, progress driven by the steadfast support of his Majesty King Abdullah II.

Underscoring the impact if inclusive governance, Faizal cited royal initiatives focused on strengthening legal frameworks that safeguarded women’s rights and promote active participation in public life. Today’s Jordanian women hold high-ranking roles such as ministers, judges, ambassadors, and senior officers.

Digital transformation is now a critical enabler of inclusive growth, Faizal asserted, highlighting its capacity to unlock economic opportunities for women via tech access, remote entrepreneurship, and reduced dependency on traditional workforce structures. He emphasized the urgency of building digital infrastructure and advancing policies that promotes equitable participation.

Highlighting regional disparities, Faizal noted that women’s engagement in leadership and economic roles remain limited in many Arab nations, with ongoing conflicts further exacerbating barriers to inclusion and representations.
