Microvitality Wins 2026 TiE Boston Women Finals

Microvitality won the top prize at the 2026 TiE Boston Women Finals with its founder Zoe Watson guiding the biotech firm to victory amongst a group of strong women contenders. Microvitality is poised to become a prominent firm blending science with entrepreneurship.

It was awarded for its biotech product that consists of an oral capsule that can take uncontaminated samples from the small intestine. Its product seeks to address problems associated with studying the small intestine and its microbiome. Dottir Labs run by Nili Persits was placed second whereas third place went to RevivBio, founded by Fatemeh “Aileen” Mastouri.

This year’s finalists highlighted the evolving nature of women’s entrepreneurial endeavours with ventures operating in the fields of biotechnology, synthetic biology, personal safety technologies, and women’s diagnostics. It offers an avenue for women entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses, prove their potential for growth and increase visibility in the startup ecosystem.

TiE Boston Women plays an important part in promoting network for women’s entrepreneurship. Through mentoring, networking, visibility, and capital formation, the women leaders receive help in nurturing their businesses and enhancing their business abilities.

The other finalists have added value to the list of innovations of this competition through their ventures related to the personal safety technology and women’s diagnostics.

For TiE Women, the objective goes beyond identifying winners as organizers want to build up a broader support structure for women entrepreneurs to get greater access to mentors, networks, exposure, funding, and business development.

Organizers defined TiE Women as a platform dedicated to fostering a budding community for women founders. The TiE Boston Women Finals in 2026 brought out the diverse potential of women-led entrepreneurship within the region. These ventures are building innovative businesses that tackle important opportunities and challenges in areas such as healthcare, biotech, personal safety, and women's health.

RevivBio develops an interdisciplinary biotech platform by combining protein engineering, microfluidics, and AI technologies to create biologics and efficient enzymes. The company’s solutions are designed to be used for various applications, from healthcare and agriculture to animal health and environment-related ones, showing RevivBio’s commitment to creating solutions out of the advanced science.

Led by Tamika Vantifflin, Aegis is developing a personal safety app which is expected to provide emergency help to its users in a subtle way. This application can communicate crucial information like the location of the user, medical records, emergency contacts, and even audio and video information in order to provide the responders with vital data during an emergency situation.

Led by Nandini Kanthi, Sensible is working on a smart patch that can be attached to the menstrual pad in order to analyze the menstrual fluid for some specific biomarkers. This technology would generate some personalized health insights, and it would provide early non-invasive diagnosis for conditions like endometriosis and cervical problems.

Further assistance for the 2026 challenge was provided by the UMass Boston Venture Development Center and the Subu Kota Foundation, enhancing the resources available to the women-owned startups that entered the contest.

“The competition may have winners, but our commitment is to support every founder who walked through the door,” TiE Boston said. The program chairs Sumeit Aggarwal and Preeti Tandon played an important role in the current Boston competition. The organizers also thanked the judges, mentors, sponsors, Charter Members, volunteers, and TiE Boston community members for their support to the founders.
