A Scottish business angels group has made a joint investment in MyBliss, a company focused on innovations in women's sexual health.
The funding round was led by Mint Ventures, with Alma Angels and Lifted Ventures also participating. Huddersfield-based Mo Carrier and her fiancé, Joel Birkhead, founded MyBliss after Carrier experienced the side effects of hormonal contraception.
The company is developing its flagship condom product through a £100,000 Innovate UK–funded project in partnership with the University of Manchester. It also plans to introduce an intimate gel.
Gillian Fleming, Mint Ventures managing director, said they were proud to support MyBliss. She said the company's focus on evidence-based innovation fits with their goal of backing diverse founders creating positive impact.
Carrier said that working with Mint Ventures marked an important step for MyBliss and this support would help grow the work of the company by offering more tailored solutions to women's well-being.
She added that MyBliss wants to reshape the women's sexual wellness space by putting comfort and empowerment at the core. Mint Ventures and Lifted Ventures are both backed by the British Business Bank.
