The Nigerian Bottling Company Ltd (NBC), a member of the Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company group, provided a total of N2 million grants to two female entrepreneurs to recognize their innovation and impact on future business.

The event was held at WIMBIZ’s Annual Women in Management, Business and Public Service Conference in Lagos, themed “Own. Walk. Nurture.”

Toyibah Shehu Mohammed of FarhM’s Food and Sauce Global Limited and Helen Gabriel of Ogy’s Cakes received N1 million each after being named the winners of the WIMBIZ Entrepreneurship Masterclass.

They were recognized for their creativity, perseverance, and the potential of their businesses to create economic value.

While presenting the awards, NBC’s Director of People and Culture, Jolomi Fawehinmi, stressed the importance of supporting women-owned companies and their contributions to the development of a community.

Jolomi expressed that “At NBC, we believe that women-led businesses are critical to the fabric of such economic viability and when that happens, communities thrive,” and, "The participants of the Entrepreneurship Masterclass are reflective of their aspirational commitment to excellence and impact."

NBC stated that in conjunction with WIMBIZ, this is in line with its broader commitment to improving women’s leadership, entrepreneurship and inclusion in the business community in Nigeria.

During a panel discussion entitled “Leading from the Inside Out: Balancing Ambition, Vulnerability & Purpose” NBC's Director, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Oluwasoromidayo George, along with other women leaders, discussed their commitment to leading authentically and with purpose.

In her corporate voice, Oluwasoromidayo articulated that authenticity, emotional intelligence and vulnerability were all important factors for women in leadership. “Openness and confidence create connection and trust.” “Honor your values, be kind to yourself and others, and show up for a reason.”
