In the Great HR Awards, National Development Bank PLC (NDB) earned the recognition of being a Best Women-Friendly Workplace.
The award was presented by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka, together with Mercer, the internationally recognized human resources consulting firm.
The recognition is a testament to the continual efforts of NDB in creating an inclusive and supportive work environment for women at all levels of the organisation.
This year’s Great HR Awards were established to celebrate organisations demonstrating a commitment to people, organisational culture development and workplace inclusivity; NDB’s win in this inaugural and highly competitive program demonstrates the level of success and consistency that has been achieved towards the diversity and inclusion initiatives.
At NDB, gender diversity is one of the major strategic areas of focus and is incorporated within the corporate culture, leadership development and employee experience.
The recognition as a Best Women-Friendly Workplace is an indication of the bank’s efforts in creating an environment where women will thrive, be respected, and have their career development needs addressed.
NDB’s work is further reinforced by its EDGE Certification, which is an international benchmark for gender equity that evaluates organisations on gender diversity, workplace policies, and inclusive practices.
NDB is the only local organisation to have attained this certification for three consecutive cycles, which means that NDB’s work on gender inclusion is formally measured and independently verified.
Speaking on the occasion, NDB Vice President – Human Resources Lasantha Dasanayaka said that the award is a testament to the organisation’s values and approach to diversity and inclusion.
He said that NDB is committed to further enhancing its efforts to ensure that the workplace is inclusive and supportive of leadership development and professional growth for all employees.
