The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the Philippines has launched a credit facility worth ₱2 billion, which targets women entrepreneurs.
This is expected to help women-owned businesses grow by providing them with easier access to credit through digital platforms.
As part of the efforts to make the economy more inclusive, the DTI has allocated ₱2 billion from the Small Business Corporation (SBCorp) budget for the Women’s Enterprise Fund (WEF) in 2026.
The fund will target businesses that are ready to grow, generate more job opportunities, and have a larger impact on the economy, as well as ensuring financial security for families.
According to Ma. Cristina Roque of the DTI, the department is dedicated to helping women entrepreneurs who are seeking to expand both locally and internationally.
She recognized that access to funding is a challenge and that the Women’s Enterprise Fund, which is offered through SBCorp, is specifically created to address the needs of MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises).
The process of applying for the credit facility has also been made easier with online applications. Women entrepreneurs can now apply for loans online using the SBCorp Money App (downloadable from Google Play and Huawei AppGallery) or using the web app at app.sbcorp.ph.
This makes it easier for entrepreneurs to apply for loans from the comfort of their homes, stores, or offices.
The Women’s Enterprise Fund has flexible terms for loan repayment to help women entrepreneurs grow their businesses.
The terms include borrowing amounts ranging from ₱30,000 to ₱20 million, A grace period of one year to pay the loan and interest on eligible loans. Repayment period of up to five years, collateral not required for loans of up to ₱5 million.
These terms give women entrepreneurs a chance to develop their businesses to a point where they can repay the loans.
For those who prefer to personally seek assistance, DTI encourages women entrepreneurs to visit any of the 1,431 Negosyo Centers all over the country.
The Negosyo Centers provide assistance in understanding business opportunities, processing requirements, and DTI programs. Those who wish to know more can also call the hotline number 1-384.
With the availability of digital access, flexible loan terms, and support, the Women’s Enterprise Fund seeks to bridge the gap for Filipina entrepreneurs who are ready to take the next step.
