Nike Adds BLACKPINK's LISA to Global Performance-Style Partners

  • Nike signed LISA of BLACKPINK to its global roster
  • This signing made her a performance-oriented partner
  • Reports included her training, movement, and long-term use of Nike products

Nike partnered with LISA from BLACKPINK, making her one of its global performance-style partners. The announcement came shortly after Nike's announcement and was picked up by many outlets covering fashion and culture, much of which focused on LISA's training, her movements (how she trains), and that it was not strictly a fashion partnership, but rather that she has used Nike products for a long time before formally signing with them.

Nike’s announcement featured the same style that they have traditionally done when signing new athletes, focusing more on training and conditioning than fashion. The media focused on how LISA has been using Nike products for an extended time before formalizing the partnership.

LISA herself talked about using functional shoes and clothing during her training, including how she would save up her allowance to buy Nike Dunk Highs to wear when dancing, in interviews surrounding the partnership announcement.

Because of how this partnership was formed and positioned from the very beginning, it fits very well into Nike’s overall positioning related to continuing growth of their women’s business.

The selection of ambassadors from the past year has placed a greater emphasis on becoming an ambassador for the NIKE brand through being active and participating in sports.

LISA’s professional career as an artist and performer has included all of the same training regimens, types of exercise, and methods of recovery that are found in the NIKE brand.

This includes daily rehearsals, strength conditioning, weight lifts, endurance training, and recovery time after each rehearsal.

In some of her interviews, LISA discusses how her long dance practice sessions are the primary types of workouts for her and how she does add in Pilates, Stretching and Cardio sessions will work for her as she completes all of her rehearsal times.

Overall, this partnership represents a continued effort on the part of Nike to continue to support their commitment to being disciplined and consistent with brand image through time.

This was especially clear earlier this year when Nike announced it would be withdrawing from airing its Super Bowl 60 commercial this year due to the strong performance of the brand throughout 2025.
