Presently, more than 20 women entrepreneurs from the southern parts of Zimbabwe are undergoing the fourth round of the Next She Exporter incubation program, where they aim to extend them into the global scope.
Since its inception, the programme has provided a life-changing platform for Zimbabwean women entrepreneurs to grow and go global. The fourth cycle of the programme continues to widen its horizon. In collaboration with Nedbank and ZimTrade, its coverage at the provincial level was expanded by driving innovation and inclusive growth.
ZimTrade training associate Keith Heywood urged participants in a recent three-day course held in Bulawayo to rethink failing companies. To be in a position to respond to client problems efficiently and earn trust, he urged them to put emphasis on active listening, emotive communication, and follow-up support. "Most businesses collapse not because they are not skilled, but because their value isn't communicated well."
Catherine Phiri, the founder of SheDIRACT, an initiative which provides women with business and digital skills, is also among the people present this year. She informed us that she was expecting the program to teach her even more and to be heard even more.
Nomagugu Ndlovu, a plus-size wear business owner, sees the program as a means to develop her firm and access a fast-growing market. "This training will enable me to access more clients, and the plus-size industry has enormous potential," she stated.
Applicants should come with creative business ideas demonstrating competitive edge, social awareness, and sustainability in order to qualify for the program.
