According to the 2024 FTSE Women Leaders Review, RS Group, a top global supplier of goods and services for industrial clients is the FTSE 250 Company with the highest board-level gender diversity ranking.
The FTSE Women Leaders Review is a government-supported, business-led initiative aimed at advancing women's representation on boards and senior leadership teams across the FTSE 350 and the 50 largest private companies in the U.K. Since the review's launch in 2011 when women made up just 9.5 percent of FTSE 350 board members there has been remarkable progress.
Women currently occupy 35.3 percent of leadership roles and 43.4 percent of the 350 FTSE board seats. After the Review's scope was expanded in 2022, women now make up 36.8 percent of leadership teams and 30.5 percent of board members in the largest private companies in the United Kingdom.
Harworth Group Plc and RS Group are tied for first place in the 2024 rankings, both of which achieved 66.7 percent female representation on their boards, surpassing the Review's 2025 goal of 40% female representation on more than 60 percent of FTSE 350 boards.
"We are proud to lead the FTSE 250 in board-level gender diversity," said Baroness Rona Fairhead, the chair of the RS Group Board. More representation results in a greater range of perspectives that foster innovation, good governance, and long-term success. This recognition reaffirms our commitment to maintaining gender parity through merit-based hiring and inclusive policies.
"Diversity helps us better reflect and serve our customers, suppliers, and communities," Baroness continued. We are still committed to establishing an environment at work where everyone is encouraged, supported, and given the tools they need to succeed.
