PTHM Sampoerna Tbk. has reinforced its support for empowering women entrepreneurs through the second season of its Women Ecosystem Catalyst (WEC) program in Central Java. In collaboration with the National Solidarity Movement (GSN), the Central Java Government, and the Impala Association, WEC Season 2 prioritized the empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) under the "Sampoerna for Indonesia" initiative.
More than 1,000 women-owned MSMEs were facilitated with customized training, mentoring, and networking to address challenge areas in market access, technology uptake, and access to finance.
On June 11, the program concluded with an Awarding Night in Semarang, where 20 individuals received special awards and six winners received recognition for their achievements. Government and organizational representatives, including those from the Central Java Provincial Government and the Ministry of Investment, graced the occasion.
Speakers emphasized the critical role of MSMEs—particularly those owned by women—in sustaining economic resilience. As women own 64 percent of Indonesia's MSMEs, which produce 61 percent of the country's GDP, WEC's contribution supports President Prabowo Subianto's vision of inclusive economic growth. Leaders lauded the WEC model as a template for scaling up MSME development across the entire country and committed to continued collaboration in replicating its impact.
Sampoerna has demonstrated its alignment with the national development agenda and its commitment to sustainable economic empowerment, particularly through MSME assistance, as a key partner in building an independent Indonesian economy.
